S.H.E

S.H.E is a Taiwanese girl group that specializes in pop music, and consists of Selina Ren, Hebe Tian, and Ella Chen. The group's name is an alphabetism derived from the first letter of each member's name. S.H.E is managed by HIM International and records albums with Avex Asia, a regional branch of Avex Trax. EMI Music China distributes their music in the People's Republic of China.

Having recorded nine studio albums - a number that includes two compilation albums - and two live albums, S.H.E has sold over 4,500,000 records during their five year career. Super Star, from the group's fifth album, has been one of their more notable songs. The song charted for at least three weeks on five different charts, and reached #1 on three of those charts. However, S.H.E has received their fair share of criticism for covering songs of numerous artists. The group has not only acted in seven drama series, but also hosted two television shows and contributed ten songs to six drama soundtracks...

All begins on August 8, 2000 with Taipei (Taiwan), when producer HIM (HIM International Records) organize the ' Universal 2000 Talent and Beauty Girl Contest ", the Universal Female Contest 2000 of Beauty and Talent, in order to find new artists to be signed under their label. More than 1000 participating presented themselves at the contest, and after successive selections, there more remained only 7 participating for the last stage: "the Cruel Training course" = the Cruel Scene... According to the rule, the 7 participating ones were auditioned, and normally only one contract was planned for gaining. But because of their incredible service, 3 gaining were selected: Selina, Hebe and Ella!

All the three signed then with HIM, but the producer did not want to make a group with the three girls, under pretext which the personalities were too different and which them look did not correspond so that the spectators were accustomed. But Taiwan had never yet known of female group with personalities and look which changed the ordinary one. They thus thought that that could bring something of expenses and new, of the blow they formed a group of the three gaining. By hearing that, the three girls did not accept this change because it was not what was envisaged. It came all the three from different places, they had never telephoned, said very right ' Salut' while crossing. Their relations were not terrible, which was not taste of the company...
